Anna Hewgill

Anna Hewgill is married to Tony Williams and has worked on A Place Called Robertson in the roles of producer and sound recordist and The King Sun also in the role of producer and sound recordist. In 2002 she completed the production management course at the Australian Film Television and Radio School in Sydney.

Anna spent many years working in research and international development in Southeast Asia. She worked in agricultural research in Sabah, Malaysia, obtaining a PhD.

She also worked for AusAID, the Australian Government’s overseas aid program, managing a $15 million project in PNG community development  and projects in Nauru and public affairs.

She comes from a musical family. Her brother James is a sound engineer and her sister Catherine is the principal cellist in the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Anna has played the viola with the Australian Youth Orchestra, the WA Arts Orchestra for the opera and ballet, and the Canberra Symphony Orchestra. She currently teaches the violin.

Anna is a keen photographer and is passionate about the Australian bush and wildlife. Besides helping to run the farm with Tony, she is currently compiling an inventory of bird and plant species found in their rainforest. She also loves to get off the beaten track and explore the outback.

      • Is Anna in Australia at the moment? I worked with her years ago now
        and I wanted her to see a film I enjoyed recently by Oppenheimer. She may appreciate it. I haven’t been to Robertson for awhile and will look up the Sun King.
