THE PASSION OF MUSIC Steel City Strings

Anna plays the viola in this stunning chamber orchestra. Tony was asked to film one of the concerts and was so impressed with the quality of the playing, he offered to make a documentary feature about the group. The documentary was filmed over  two years and had a cinema premier on Sunday 11th  February 2018 at Greater Union cinema Wollongong. It was introduced by famed Australian conductor and music educator Richard Gill AO.  The film was also screened at the Empire Cinema in Bowral on Wednesday 23rd May 2018 and was introduced by the host of ABC Radio National and composer Andrew Ford.

DOCUMENTARY: THE KING SUN

The King Sun was selected for screening at the Byron Bay International Film Festival in March 2015 and was screened to a very enthusiastic audience at the Dungog Film Festival on August 31st 2014

DVDs are now available of the 54 minute version of this documentary here.

The DVD was launched in Melbourne in July 2014.

A 27 minute version of this film was shown on ABC TV in June 2014.

John Olsen sadly passed away in April 2023 aged 95. To the end he was painting, full of inspiration, wisdom, fun, philosophy, poetry and laughter. Australia’s greatest painter of these times.
